The Plain Language Association International holds an international conference every two years, focusing on the standards, research, and practice of plain language and related professions.

These conferences bring together plain-language experts from around the world to present the latest research and techniques. We invite professionals from all fields to attend and explore the benefits of plain language in their work.

2007 PLAIN Conference

PLAIN's sixth international conference was held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands
from Oct. 11-14, 2007.

The Six Intenational Plain Language Conference brought together experts from around the world to present the latest research and techniques in plain language.

The conference was hosted by Bureautaal, a Dutch communications consulting agency specializing in plain language.

2007 Award Winners

Christine Mowat, Acting Chairperson of the Plain Language Association International, presented awards to two outstanding visionary leaders in the field of plain language, Mark Adler and Joe Kimble. For the text of Christine's award speeches, see below:
